Stokas Inc. undertook the design and full renovation of an apartment located on the sixth floor of a six-storey building, originally constructed in 1999, in Palaio Faliro, Attica.
The construction process required careful planning and coordination, particularly regarding the transportation of materials and equipment, due to the apartment’s location on the top floor. An external lift was installed in different phases of the project to ensure efficiency while minimizing disturbance to the building’s residents.
The main design concept focused on creating a unified open-plan space with the flexibility to be divided into more private zones. The new layout allows the various areas to communicate seamlessly, while incorporating spatial “filters” that provide varying degrees of privacy.
Furniture, partition elements, and the strategic design of openings between spaces play a key role in achieving this balance. The result is a layout that offers multiple spatial perspectives while maintaining a strong sense of cohesion, tailored to the needs of the owners.
The main living areas adopt a modern aesthetic, where the rich brown tones of the wooden flooring are complemented by soft white and light grey hues on the walls, as well as grey finishes in the kitchen, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. This palette of colors and materials is consistently extended to the bedrooms.
In the two bathrooms, materials of natural origin are used, with combinations of marble, stone, and wood in varying shades, contributing to the overall sense of refinement and harmony within the residence.
